Assistant Controller / Senior Accounting Lead
Location: Greater Los Angeles Area (On-Site)
A growing transportation and services organization is seeking a hands-on Assistant Controller to support the CFO and oversee day-to-day accounting operations across multiple entities.
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys working in a dynamic environment and managing a wide range of financial responsibilities including financial reporting, reconciliations, compliance, and operational accounting support.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support the CFO in managing core financial operations and accounting processes
  • Prepare financial statements and analyze account activity and trends
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger and subsidiary accounts
  • Perform month-end and year-end close activities, including GL reconciliations
  • Prepare and maintain cash flow reporting
  • Manage revenue reconciliation processes including gratuity tracking and reporting
  • Interface with payroll team to review and post payroll journal entries and reconcile quarterly and annual payroll reports
  • Perform workers’ compensation reconciliations and support annual workers’ comp audits
  • Assist with insurance renewal processes and related documentation
  • Manage accounts receivable reconciliations
  • Maintain fixed asset schedules and reporting
  • Support annual property reporting and regulatory filings
  • Manage business license applications and renewals
  • Prepare and file applicable sales tax returns
  • Support budgeting processes including budget uploads and financial tracking
  • Assist with special projects and operational accounting initiatives as needed

Systems & Tools
  • ERP system experience required (Sage 100 or similar preferred)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
  • Experience working with operational or reservation systems a plus

  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Comfortable working closely with leadership and cross-functional teams
  • Ability to research issues and identify solutions independently

This individual will work closely with the CFO and play an important role in maintaining financial integrity and operational efficiency across the organization.
